Because I am not made of money, storage needs to be smartly used. To achieve this, automatic file attachment expiration is enforced for all.
When we reference “File” or “Files”, it means any media that is uploaded via the File Uploader (or if you drag and drop a file into the chat)
Note: Links to external media (Images, GIF’s, YouTube videos) are not bound by any expiration.

Under every file that is uploaded, it will display a date. This is when the file will be deleted.

Depending on how big the file is will depend on how long it stays around.
Example:
- Less or equal 5 MB = 3 years
- 10 MB = 2 years, 9 months
- 50 MB = 2 years, 2 months
- 100 MB = 1 year, 9 months
- 250 MB = 1 year
- 500 MB = 14 days.
Again, depending on how large the file size is, will depend on the expiration.
You can save up to 500 files by clicking the ⭐ on a file once uploaded. This would not be subject to any expiration.
